

The Cutting Edge: Advanced Hand Surgery for GPs workshop is a unique, highly practical cadaveric dissection skills training workshop. It is designed to provide GPs with a higher than average level of skill in surgery with the opportunity to refine and consolidate their surgical techniques. It is of particular relevance to rural GP Proceduralists in the management of difficult and emergency hand injuries. This workshop aims to equip GPs with a reliable foundation in advanced procedural skills. It is an excellent advanced level course with a high faculty to participant ratio. It does not provide certification of competence in any of the procedures outlined and practised. Limited Observer positions are available.
Procedures are first covered by a brief didactic presentation followed by a hands-on cadaveric session with only 2 participants per station. Each participant has access to a dedicated cadaveric arm and hand.
Presentation & Practical Cadaveric Sessions:
Suitable for: GPs with a higher than average level of skill in surgery, with access to appropriate levels of equipment and operating facilities. Of particular relevance to rural emergency GPs and GP Surgeons. Limited Observer positions are available.
