We place GP locums throughout rural Western Australia, from regional centres to remote towns and communities. GP locum placements vary in duration from one week to several months. We will work with you to ensure that your GP locum placement is matched to your needs and preferences.

New GP locums
If you are new to our GP locum service, you can register your interest with us. You will to receive regular e-bulletins which detail our current GP locum opportunities.
What happens next?
Once you have applied for a current vacancy or registered your interest in becoming a GP locum, our team will be in touch to discuss your application and possible options.
When a suitable placement has been identified we will work with you and the general practice or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service to facilitate the placement by coordinating the placement administration and making travel arrangements (if required).
As a registered GP locum, you will also receive our fortnightly e-bulletin, which provides a list of all our upcoming locum opportunities.
Training opportunities
Rural Health West supports GP locums to maintain and refresh skills and knowledge by identifying appropriate training that may be required prior to commencing a GP locum placement.
Rural Health West facilitates numerous workshops each year in the Perth metropolitan area and regional locations. Regular Rural Health West GP locums may be eligible for a subsidy to attend some of these workshops and conferences.
